Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using ShopSentry ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and subscribers.

2. Description of Service

ShopSentry is an AI-powered compliance scanning tool for Etsy sellers. The Service analyzes Etsy listing metadata to identify potential policy violations and provides advisory suggestions.

Important: Results provided by ShopSentry are advisory only. They do not constitute legal advice, guarantee policy compliance, or ensure listing approval, reinstatement, or account restoration on Etsy or any other platform. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate and current information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

4. Etsy Integration

The Service connects to the Etsy Open API v3 using OAuth 2.0 authorization. When you connect your Etsy shop, you grant ShopSentry read-only access to your shop and listing data through the scopes you authorize (listings_r, shops_r).

You may revoke this access at any time through your Etsy account's connected apps settings. Revoking access will prevent ShopSentry from syncing new data, but previously synced data will remain stored until you delete your account.

5. Subscription and Billing

ShopSentry offers the following plans:

  • Free — 1 compliance scan per month, up to 10 listings per scan.
  • Basic ($19/month) — unlimited scans and listings.
  • Pro ($29/month) — everything in Basic plus appeal template generation and weekly compliance digests.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Etsy's Terms of Use.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service beyond normal usage.
  • Share account credentials or allow unauthorized access to your account.
  • Use the Service to intentionally circumvent Etsy policies or facilitate prohibited listings.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service infrastructure or other users' access.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and AI models, is owned by ShopSentry and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your Etsy listing data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your listing data solely for the purpose of providing compliance scanning and related features.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

ShopSentry is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to Etsy, Inc. Compliance scan results are generated by AI and may contain false positives, false negatives, or inaccuracies. You are solely responsible for reviewing results and making final decisions about your listings.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SHOPSENTRY AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, SALES, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these terms, abuse the Service, or engage in activity that is harmful to other users or to ShopSentry. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support. Upon termination, all data associated with your account will be permanently deleted.

11. Data Processing

Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
